Love the idea of gorgeous clip-in extensions but not ready to splash out on a professional fitting?
You can make your own seamless set at home, mixing colours and experimenting with styles, all without committing to anything permanent. Best of all, you can pop them in and out whenever you like, no salon visit required.
Here's everything you need to know to make your own, from what to buy through to keeping them looking their best once they're done.
DIY clip-ins give you a lot more freedom than a pre-made set. You can choose exactly how many wefts to use, blend two or three shades for a natural dimension, and build them to the thickness that suits your hair.
They're also a great way to try out a new length or colour before committing to something more permanent, and once they're made, they last just as well as a shop-bought set with the right care.
As a rough guide, most people need between 120g and 150g of hair for a full head set, though this depends on your natural hair thickness and how much extra volume or length you're after. You'll find everything you need to create your own clip in extensions in our fitting tools collection.
Prefer to skip the DIY? We stock a range of different professional hair extension methods give you thicker, longer hair without the wait.
Weft tape-in extensions can be curled, straightened, washed, dyed and reshaped, so once your clip-ins are made you can style them just like you would your own hair. To keep them looking their best for longer, wash them sparingly, use a heat protectant before styling, and store them somewhere flat or on a hanger to avoid tangling between wears. Take a look at our aftercare guide for more tips on keeping any set of extensions in top condition.
